Wildlife can regularly be seen in the gardens, including numerous birds such as blackbirds, thrushes, robins, wrens, wood pigeons, pheasants, partridges and barn owls. Butterflies are plentiful and the walled garden is part of an annual butterfly count.
The separate large walled garden pre-dates The Lodge, probably dating from the early 1700's. It is delightful, spacious and secluded with herbaceous borders, lawns, mature trees and shrubs. Guests can pick vegetables, fruit or herbs for use in the kitchen.
We hope you will enjoy the gardens as much as we do.
